Water Savings - Biological Urinal Waste Trap System

Biological Urinal Waste Trap - Accepta’s innovative, eco-friendly water saving biological urinal waste trap system could save commercial users up to £200 per urinal, per year on their water bills. It’s also far kinder to the environment, as it uses less water, it's simple to fit and much safer for maintenance and facilities staff as it eliminates the need to handle dangerous chemicals. It's clever design means it's quick and easy to fit into most existing urinal units making it ideal for a whole range of commercial and industrial applications including offices, hotels, hospitals, motorway service stations, pubs, airports, shopping centres and many more.

In addition to the substantial savings on water and maintenance bills Accepta's urinal waste system system also offers a uniquely effective and environmentally sound means of dealing with the dual problems of smells and blockages in bowl urinals without the need for environmentally harmful chemicals or constant flushing.

Benefits include

    • Eco-friendly, reducing environmental impact.
    • Lower water bills.
    • Lower maintenance costs.
    • No urinal smells.
    • Fewer blockages.
    • Better washroom hygiene.
    • Safer to employees and the environment – no harmful chemicals.

Accepta’s Urinal Waste System

Water Saving Technology

Accepta’s innovative eco-friendly biological urinal trap system comprises an easy to install urinal waste fitting incorporating unique aerobic and anaerobic enzymes, and a bespoke solenoid valve designed to achieve optimum performance through controlled system flushing.

Lower Water Bills Through Reduced Water Consumption

After allowing for the quarterly replacement of Accepta's units and an annual maintenance charge, it is estimated that commercial users could benefit from a net cost saving per urinal of at least £100 in the first year and at least £200 per annum per urinal thereafter.

A typical urinal flushes constantly as frequently as 6 times per hour, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, regardless whether in use or not. This wastes both money and water. Accepta’s system flushes just 4 - 6 times a day, saving 150,000 + litres of water a year per urinal.

In more detail - a standard urinal flushes approximately every 15 minutes and will use about 150,000 litres of water each year at an average annual cost of circa £250. A urinal fitted with a water flow control unit will only use about 6,500 litres of water, a saving of around 90 to 95%.

Reduced Maintenance Costs

Accepta’s innovative system also reduces maintenance costs through reduced or eliminated blockages (Accepta estimates savings to be about £75 - £150 per urinal per year), with further savings achieved by the absence of the need for chemical blocks or treatments (in excess of £20 per urinal per year).

Eliminate Unpleasant Smells

Accepta’s eco-friendly system has been designed to create an airtight odour lock and so eliminate those unpleasant urinal smells that often plague traditional waste traps.

Fewer Blockages

The top of each fitting is filled with an enzyme-based block, which contains a mix of surfactants (for foaming and washing), water softeners (to help reduce limescale build up) and enzymes (to combat the build-up of uric acid). When the urinal is flushed these enzymes settle in the waste trap and make the uric salts soluble in water, thereby avoiding an unwanted build-up of salts, often a common cause of blockages.

Eliminate the Need for Harsh Chemicals and Other Hazardous Substances

Chemicals tend to mask odours rather than break down the 'bad' bacteria, which cause urinal problems. Harsh chemicals are often hazardous to employees, harm the environment and are unnecessary with Accepta’s urinal waste system.
