Frost Protection for Industrial Plant & Machinery - Chillers & Engine Cooling Systems

Low temperatures leading to freezing conditions can, if not managed correctly, often result in serious damage to plant and equipment, chillers and engine cooling systems. System blockages, cracked pipework and unwanted fluid loss can be expensive both in terms of operational down-time and ultimate repair or replacemment costs. It is therefore essential that systems are properly protected to cope with such conditions.

The use of glycol based antifreeze products can be one of the most cost effective ways of achieving such protection. Accepta have selected a range of high performance products that can be used as part of your frost protection regime including:

    • Glycol Refractometer - measure ethylene or propylene glycol quickly and easily... more >>
    • Food Grade Antifreeze incorporating scale and corrosion inhibitors ... more >>
    • Non-Food Grade Antifreeze incorporating corrosion, scale and algae inhibitors ... more >>

Precision Glycol Refractometer

Accepta’s precision quality glycol refractometer offers a quick and convenient way to accurately test glycol concentrations of engine coolants and other antifreeze solutions. This pocket sized optical refractometer provides a quick and simple result that is impossible to achieve using traditional hydrometer based methods.

Accepta’s precision quality glycol refractometer has been developed for water treatment professionals, engineers and facilities managers who have responsibility for the operation and management of industrial plant systems, and that may require a glycol based protection regime.

Benefits

    • Simple and easy to operate, with accurate results in seconds
    • Measures ethylene, propylene and battery acid levels.
    • High quality refractometer incorporating precision optics.

Food Grade Glycol Antifreeze plus Corrosion and Scale Inhibitors

Accepta 8700 is a high performance, food and beverage grade mono propylene glycol based antifreeze coolant with additional corrosion and scale inhibitors added. Accepta 8700 is designed for use in the food and beverage industries and for systems where low oral toxicity is essential. Accepta 8700 contains non-toxic multi-metal inhibitors to protect chillers and their associated cooling systems against corrosion and scale in order to maximise heat transfer properties of the system.

    • Accepta 8700 offers excellent frost protection characteristics.
    • A food grade tracer dye can be added to Accepta 8700 allowing it to act as a leak detector.
    • A bitter taste additive also can also be added to Accepta 8700 to prevent human consumption where required.

Accepta 8700 should be diluted using ultrapure, demineralised, softened water ... more >>

Non-Food Grade Glycol Antifreeze plus Corrosion, Scale and Algae Inhibitors

Accepta 8701 is a high performance, industrial (non-food) grade glycol based antifreeze coolant with additional corrosion, scale and algae inhibitors added. Accepta 8701 is designed for use in industrial systems and contains a blend of synergistic inhibitors to protect chillers and their associated cooling systems against corrosion, scale and algae to maximise heat transfer properties of the system.

    • Accepta 8701 is based on hi-grade mono ethylene glycol and offers excellent frost protection characteristics.
    • A tracer dye can be added to Accepta 8701 allowing it to act as a leak detector.
    • A bitter taste additive also can also be added to Accepta 8701 to prevent human consumption.

Accepta 8701 should be diluted using demineralised, softened or good quality potable water ... more >>
