Legionnaires' Disease - Guide for Employers
Legionnaires' Disease - This short and easy to
use guide covers issues relevant to those risks associated with
Legionnaires’ disease and the
control of Legionella bacteria in facilities with hot and cold water
services and/or wet cooling systems.
In the UK the primary document dealing with
the control of Legionella bacteria is the Health and Safety
Commissions Approved Code of Practice, L8 "Legionnaires'
disease: The control of legionella bacteria in water systems".
The guide has been prepared by the UK's Health & Safety
Executive and is based around the HSC's ACoP L8 document referred
to previously. This guide is written to help employers understand
the health risks associated with Legionella and Legionnaires’
disease. It explains in general terms how to control those
risks, covers the need for Legionella risk assessments, your
legal responsibilities and other duties, record keeping and
more. |
