Grease Traps & Interceptors
Grease Traps & Interceptors - Accepta’s
range of high performance stainless steel grease
traps and interceptors have been developed to significantly
improve the performance of domestic, commercial and industrial drainage
systems by minimising the problems caused by the unwanted accumulation
of waste solids, grease and fats. Constructed from high quality
stainless steel Accepta’s grease traps and interceptors incorporate
an innovative high performance mesh system that acts to effectively
filter out solid organic waste before it enters the drainage system,
minimising its impact on drains, pipes, interceptors and wastewater
discharge quality.

How do they Work?
Accepta’s high performance filtration system which is an
integral component of each unit removes most solid matter from the
wastewater before it enters the drainage system. As the wastewater
enters the trap, lighter grease, fats and oils separate and float
on the water, whilst solid particles settle to the bottom of the
filter cassette. As the wastewater drains, it is drawn through the
filter cassette, which helps to reduce any turbulence and filters
out even more solid waste material. The wastewater is then drawn
up through the integrated air trap into the main drainage system.
Maintenance
The cleaning cycle will depend on the volume of material running
through the filter. Cleaning operations should be carried out only
when the trap is cold. We generally recommend that the filter is
cleaned at the start of each working day, after the grease and fat
deposits have solidified overnight.
Cleaning
The cleaning cycle depends on volume of use. Cleaning should only
be carried out at the start of the working day when system is cold.
The suggested cleaning procedure is as follows:
Stage 1 - Unclip the lid, remove lid, wipe the lid clean and
set aside.
Stage 2 - Using a sieve skim out accumulated grease and fat.
Proceed to Stage 5 if using the Accepta7141
and dosing system.
Stage 3 - Open low level drain valve (if fitted) and drain
the unit.
Stage 4 - Close low level drain valve (if fitted).
Stage 5 - Lift out filter cassette (basket), empty and clean.
Proceed to Stage 7 if using Accepta 7141
and dosing system.
Stage 6 - Flush out the unit with hot soapy water.
DO NOT use bleach products if using Accepta
7141.
Stage 7 - Refit the filter cassette (basket).
Stage 8 - Replace the lid, clips, closing the side clips first,
and then the clips at the pipe ends.
Automatic Dosing System
Accepta recommend that their stainless steel filtered grease traps
and interceptors are used in conjunction with Accepta 7141 (bio
cleaner) and their dosing system. This significantly improves operational
efficiency and has several significant benefits. Either mains or
battery operated, Accepta’s dosing system automatically dispenses
a measured amount of Accepta 7141, either manually or automatically
at preset times – normally after hours, when the grease and
fat deposits have solidified.
